I HAVE BEEN A software engineer for 8 years, an artist and writer for much longer. That said, I consider software engineering to be a creative experience in its own right. My coding "career" started off with making intricate, pretty web pages purely out of HTML and CSS for story characters, and the desire to be able to do more with code is what got me interested in coding back-end. I still love to make beautiful apps that people really love to use.
Over the years, I've worked on many services to help small businesses get funding they need, and I've worked on integrations for security and compliance software. I've been the Team Lead for both a Growth Engineering team and a team implementing new GDPR technical protocols.
At 19, I was the technical cofounder of Umedoc, which was a marketplace for doctors and patients to conduct online visits. After two years of community college, I got accepted into UCLA as a math major for Fall 2014 and had originally planned to attend, but I instead took the year off to get the startup running. Since then, I've been working on my BSc in Computer Science part-time.
I love to draw art and write both essays and stories, and want to get better at both. After years of working on an epic fantasy trilogy, I'm now working on a series of sci-fi short stories.
